SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED AT ENGINEERS WEEK BANQUET
Bettendorf, Iowa - At its 50th Annual National Engineers Week Gala Banquet held on March 1, 2012, the Quad City Engineering and Science Council (QCESC) awarded nine scholarships totaling $15,500. The Quad City Engineering and Science Council (QCESC) is an umbrella organization representing 36 technical societies in the Quad City area with approximately 5,000 associated members.

QCESC $2,500 Scholarship Eric Jepsen - Geneseo High School - Geneseo, Illinois Eric is a senior at Geneseo High School. He is ranked third in his class with a 4.420 GPA and an ACT score of 34. In school, he is technical director of Theater Crew, Key Club vice president, Robotics Club president, and participates in National Honor Society, Math Club, and mentoring. Eric plans to attend MIT majoring in Electrical Engineering and minoring in Computer Science. |

QCESC $2,500 Scholarship Bailey Krstic - Mercer County High School - Aledo, Illinois Bailey is a senior at Mercer County High School. She is first in her class with a 4.04 GPA and an ACT score of 29. In school she is active in student council, Key Club, Science Olympiad, band, musicals, volley ball, basketball, track, and National Honors Society. Bailey plans to attend the University of Iowa majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in business. |

QCESC $2,500 Scholarship Darcie Fuller - Central High School - Dewitt, Iowa Darcie is a senior at Central-DeWitt High School. She is ranked first in her class with a 4.0 GPA and an ACT score of 31. In school, she is a National Honor Society officer, participates in band, chorus, musicals, plays, speech, and golf. Darcie plans to attend Saint Ambrose University majoring in Secondary Education - STEM and minoring in Chemistry. |

Scholarship Alex Robinson – Mercer County High School - Aledo, Illinois Alex Robinson is a senior at Mercer County High School. He is ranked first in his class with a 3.85 GPA and an ACT score of 29. In school, he has served in student council and was president for 3 years. He was in band, Scholastic Bowl, National Honor Society, and participated in football, track, and basketball. Alex is planning to attend University of Wisconsin-Platteville, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. |

Scholarship Erin Robinson – Riverdale High School - Port Byron, Illinois Erin is a senior at Riverdale Sr. High. She is ranked fourth in her class with a 4.39 GPA and an ACT score of 26. In school, she participates in student council, Pep Club, Homecoming, manager for wrestling and baseball, theater, National Honor Society, track, volley ball, and an IHSA Scholastic Achievement Award. Erin plans to attend Iowa State University majoring Engineering. |

$1,000 Scholarship Alex Menke - Bettendorf High School Alex is a senior at Bettendorf High School. He is ranked 25th in his class with a 3.931 GPA and an ACT score of 30. In school, he is president of Spanish Club, participates in band, Future Business Leaders of America, swim team, and National Honor Society. Alex plans to attend Iowa State University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. |

$1,000 Scholarship Nicole Schimerowski - Clinton High School Nicole is a senior at Clinton High School. She is ranked eleventh in her class with a 4.063 GPA and an ACT score of 28. In school, she has participated in yearbook, student council, choir, drama, National Honor Society, soccer, and tennis. Nicole plans to attend Iowa State University and major in Aerospace Engineering. |

Zach plans to attend University of Iowa majoring in Biomedical Engineering. |

She is ranked second in her class with a 4.255 GPA and an ACT Score of 32. In school, she is in band, Science Club, Calculus Club, Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering Math Team, National Honor Society, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She participated in track and swimming. Rachel plans to attend the University of Illinois Chicago majoring in Bio Engineering and plans to pursue an advanced degree in medicine. |
