Upcoming Events

The Quad City Engineering & Science Council supports a number of annual events & programs along with unique events which year.  Below is a generic listing the current annual events and the approximate approximate year schedule.  See the actual calendar for the specifics and the QCESC separate monthly meeting schedule.

February:

  • Feb 6th – QCESC Scholarship & Award Selection Meetings
  • Feb 21st – QCESC STEM Banquet during Engineers Week with STEM Scholarships & Award with Order of the Engineer Induction, Initially supported in 1963

March:

  • March 1 & 2 – QCESC Battle of Bridges held for all ages in Davenport, Initially supported in 2008
    1 of 3 events with QCESC Tech Challenge (with Trebuchet Egg Throw Contest & Cardboard Boat Race) for High School Teams 
  • March 20 – QCESC Monthly Meeting, 3rd Wednesday  

April:

  • QCESC FIRST LEGO League Junior Expo with National Robotics Week Showcase in Davenport, 1st Saturday. 
  • QCESC Trebuchet Egg Throw Contest held in Bettendorf with high school teams, 3rd Friday.   Initially supported in 2009
    2 of 3 events with QCESC Tech Challenge (with Battle of Bridges Contest & Cardboard Boat Race) for High School Teams 
  • QCESC Monthly Meeting, 3rd Wednesday  

May:

  • QCESC Cardboard Boat Race Contest held in Bettendorf with high school teams, 2nd Friday.   Initially supported in 2009
    3 of 3 events with QCESC Tech Challenge (with Battle of Bridges Contest & Trebuchet Egg Throw Contest) for High School Teams 
  • QCESC Monthly Meeting, 3rd Wednesday  

June:

  • QCESC Monthly Meeting, 3rd Wednesday 

July:

  • QCESC Engineering Kids Camps, five 1 day camps for 2-8th Graders,  last week in July in Davenport, Initiated in 2009.

August:

  • QCESC Executive Board End of Year / Next Year Planning Session

September:

  • Kickoff for FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Season, 2nd Saturday.  Initially supported in 2015
  • QCESC Monthly Meeting, 3rd Wednesday 
  • Kickoff for FIRST LEGO League & FIRST LEGO League Junior, 4th Saturday.  Initially supported in 2013

October:

  • QCESC STEM Scholarship Application Open – Due by January 
  • STEM Teachers Night Out event, held at various locations.  Initially supported in 2009
  • QCESC Monthly Meeting, 3rd Wednesday 

November:

  • QCESC STEM Award Nominations Open – Due by late January

  • FIRST Tech Challenge League meets begin in QC Iowa & Illinois locally through early February.  Initially supported with scrimmage in 2011.

December:

  • FIRST LEGO League & FIRST LEGO League Junior Qualifier (1) & Expo (1) 1st Saturday in Moline.  Initially supported in 2013
  • FIRST LEGO League & FIRST LEGO League Junior Qualifiers (2)  & Expos (4)  2nd Sat. & Sun. in Davenport.  Initially supported in 2009

QCESC Monthly Meeting, 3rd Wednesday 

January:

  • STEM Teachers Night Out event, at Davenport West on January 9th.  Initially supported in 2009
  • QCESC Monthly Meeting, 3rd Wednesday  at the Red Cross Building in Moline
  • FIRST Tech Challenge Iowa League Tournament, held at various locations

 

  • QC ASABE FALL MEETING October 22, 2019 @ 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm Rogalski Center located at St. Ambrose University in Davenport IA (518 W. Locust St, Davenport IA)

    Our QC ASABE Fall Meeting Registration is now open! Please register by EOB 18 October 2019. 

    The meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 on the second floor of the Rogalski Center located at St. Ambrose University in Davenport IA (518 W. Locust St, Davenport IA). The meeting agenda is attached.

    Registration is ONLINE only – ASABE Quad City Section Fall Meeting   

    Meeting cost is $30/person which includes dinner.

    Technical sessions only are $10/person.

    Nonmembers are welcome at the ASABE Quad City Section's Fall Meeting. The afternoon tech session talk will be on industrial hemp production while the after-dinner talk will cover all aspects of honey bees and their importance to agriculture.
